Introduction to Permaculture - More Than A Philosophy
Permaculture has emerged today as a vital part of living. The concept was developed by Bill Mollison and David Holmgren who divide theory and actions into three categories of belief and actions as described by the World Permaculture Association.

Basic
Permaculture is about creating and maintaining relationships, living by sharing resources, supporting each other and developing healthy communities.
Permaculture is a continuing process exploring the ways in which you can fulfil the needs of all around you while having your own needs met, starting with resources found around your home, including animals, plants, buildings and other products.

Intermediate
Permaculture is a process of growing awareness.
Linking people with plants and animals, permaculture promotes conscious living, sustainable development and resource conservation.
It is a response to the industrial urbanisation of the Earth increasing toxins in the biosphere. Permaculture enables dialogues towards finding creative solutions for problems today.

Advanced
Permaculture consciousness enhances our ability to work with maps and connect to territory.
It looks towards saving energy, conserving resources and forming long-term interdependent relationships with whole communities of living things.
Permaculture develops applied understandings of the subtle implications and impact of our actions on our world.
Additional benefits for communities are better nutrition, health and food responsibility.
Permaculture provides eye to eye contact and physical touch through plant care, a vital part for neurological development and learning at all life stages.
